1 Step, 2 Step, 3 step, 4..

and the happy dance

I have been waiting for the day that we got to start moving our little baby plants into their big towers since the day we brought leafy home, and let me just tell you, I had the very best time!! There is something beautifully satisfying about the simplicity of having the ability to provide a source of food for the people you love the most and the people who need it the most.

Today was just another small step towards bringing this dream of ours to life. With around 550 seedlings are ready to move into the towers and another 400 seeds jist starting their little germination journey, this really is only the beginning. The seedlings we have working won't even bring us to half capacity!!

We are taking things slow with our first batch, experimenting with lettuce varieties to sell on their own and to create the perfect salad mix. We want to bring samples to friends and family and make a donation to a food pantry, we want to be able to drop off cases of greens to locally owned restaurants to show them the quality of product they can use, hand delivered, on a schedule of their choosing. After all, the best food starts with the freshest products. We want our community to be able to experience how long a head of our lettuce will last in the fridges when it is harvested and delivered in the same day! All natural, no harsh chemicals or harsh pesticides just perfect produce delivered year round exactly as it should be.

This step may be just another small check mark on a very long list, but as I sat in the farm, seeing all of our hard work over the past 3 months coming together, at lightning speed, I couldn't help but look around in amazement. These past few months have brought several changes to our lives and with many more around the corner, I find myself very much at peace in the chaos of it all. It's a soft chaos full of both challenges and moments of immeasurable excitement, best of all, in the center of the chaos is our peace, we have eachother and we have our dream.

What more could we possibly need ❤️
